Sat Paul Parashar, PhD, more commonly known as S P Parashar, is an Indian financial management expert and business education administrator. He sits on the Boards of a number of top Corporations and Management Institutions. He has contributed to many business and management schools, corporates and banks in Asia and the Middle East, notably in India, Singapore, Nepal, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. He was appointed to the highest level academic post, directorship, at the Indian Institute of Management, one of the highest ranked business schools in India in 2004,[1] and was also the director of the Indian Institute of Management in Indore, India from 2004 to 2008.

Dr S P Parashar is presently the Head, Banking Center at Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), Manama Bahrain[2]. Dr Parashar was the Head of Research and Studies Department, Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates during 1999-2004.

Dr Parashar was appointed Distinguished Professor i.e. IFCI Golden Jubilee Chair Professor of Finance at Management Development Institute a Highly Ranked Business School. Prior to this Dr Parashar was Associate Professor of Finance at Xavier Labor Relations Institute, Jamshedpur and Faculty at University of Delhi. His total research, administration, training, and consultancy experience spans over 37 years[3].

He has published over 40 papers in academic journals and has authored or co-authored several books. He sits on the Boards of a number of top Corporations and Management Institutions, and high level expert committees of the Government of India, and Government of Madhya Pradesh [4]. He was appointed Editorial Board Member of Indian Journal of Finance and Research, biannual Journal of the Indian Financial Management Association [5] and International Journal of Business Competition and Growth.

Dr Parashar was rated ‘Academic Par Excellence' in 2003 at the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies, Sharjah, UAE. His Interview was published in The Times of India Daily National Newspaper on July 11, 2005 and it was titled, ‘A Jewel in the IIM Crown’ highlighting his transformation and turnaround of IIM Indore in a short time frame.

Dr Parashar holds M.Com from Delhi School of Economics (1971), and Ph D from Faculty of Management Studies (1981), University of Delhi. His doctoral thesis was titled “Liquidity Management in Selected Indian Companies”.[6] Articles in Major Indian and Middle eastern newspapers have featured Dr Parashar’s biography and his research work.
